2nd individual charged in Waltham capturing that killed lady, 24

A second individual has been charged for a deadly capturing that took the lifetime of a 24-year-old Waltham lady final month.

Kaire Holman, 31, of Quincy, was charged with the homicide of Zharia Wilcox-Ellis, 24, of Waltham, Tuesday in Waltham District Court docket. She pleaded not responsible and was held with out bail. She is scheduled to return to court docket on Dec. 2 at 9 a.m.

Holman is the second individual charged within the Aug. 2 capturing of Wilcox-Ellis. Melanie Williams, 30, of Waltham — who the DA’s workplace describes as Wilcox-Ellis’ companion — was charged Aug. 5 with assault and battery on a family or member of the family in an alleged assault that preceded the capturing.

“Zharia was well-known for her academic abilities, athletic talent, and doing what she wanted to do,” the obituary states. “Her love for basketball was evident in her participation in various leagues and competitive teams, leading her to further her education and journey as a scholar-athlete at Putnam Science Academy in Putnam, Connecticut.”
