Illinois Jacquet’s celebrated 1956 LP Swing’s The Factor is about to obtain a reissue courtesy of Verve Data’ Acoustic Sounds Vinyl Sequence. The album will probably be launched on November 21 and is obtainable for pre-order now.
Initially recorded for the Clef label in 1956, Swing’s The Factor options the tenor nice in a sextet with Roy Eldridge (trumpet), Jimmy Jones (piano), Herb Ellis (guitar), Ray Brown (bass) and Jo Jones (drums).
