Jennifer Lopez playfully shut down “Today” host Craig Melvin after he requested about her divorce from ex-husband Ben Affleck throughout an interview.
Whereas showing Monday on “Today” to debate her new musical movie, “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” Melvin talked about her divorce from Affleck in relation to the movie, prompting Lopez to initially shoo away the inquiry.
“In the middle of filming this elaborate, beautiful musical, your divorce was also finalized with Ben,” Melvin started earlier than Lopez interjected, “There you go! Look at this guy!”
Clarifying his reasoning behind citing Affleck, Melvin continued, “But then I read that your ex is an executive producer on the film.”
Disregarding the second with fun, Lopez then gave Affleck, whom she cut up from in 2024, his flowers, telling Melvin, “If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have gotten made. And I will always give him that credit.”
Relating to the divorce, the “Get Right” singer famous that “things happen,” including, “You have to keep going.”
The previous couple first obtained engaged in 2002 however cut up the next 12 months. Lopez and Affleck reconciled 20 years later and tied the knot in 2022. Their rekindled love quickly fizzled out after Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck final 12 months. Their divorce was finalized in February.

Lopez went on to share how filming “Kiss of the Spider Woman” helped her “survive” the divorce, which she admitted was a “difficult” time.
“It’s funny, the movie is about escapism. It’s about how movies and art save us in the hardest times of our lives,” she defined. “Doing this project was such a dream come true for me that it really got me through to kind of survive a moment that was difficult in my personal life as well.”
Melvin then informed Lopez, “It sounds like it might have helped save you.”
“It did, it did,” she replied.
