Massachusetts man who allegedly had 5,000-plus meth drugs in a shoebox pleads responsible

A 47-year-old man who was accused of getting greater than 5,000 meth drugs stashed inside a shoebox has pleaded responsible.

Saugus man George Krabey pleaded responsible in Boston federal court docket to his function in a drug trafficking conspiracy involving hundreds of counterfeit drugs containing meth and fentanyl.

Krabey had been indicted by a federal grand jury in July.

In line with the Massachusetts U.S. Lawyer’s workplace, Krabey repeatedly met with a cooperating supply and bought the supply hundreds of counterfeit drugs containing meth and fentanyl between final December and this April.

Then on April 22, Krabey was a passenger in a car stopped by legislation enforcement in Danvers. Krabey was enroute to Salisbury to allegedly promote the cooperating supply 4,000 counterfeit drugs containing meth.

Throughout a search of the car, legislation enforcement discovered a shoebox that had 5,296 drugs containing meth — with a weight of about two kilos.

Krabey on Monday pleaded responsible to: two counts of conspiracy to distribute managed substances, involving 500 grams or extra of meth; three counts of distribution of fifty grams or extra of meth; one depend of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or extra of meth; one depend of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or extra of meth; and one depend of distribution of meth and fentanyl.

U.S. District Court docket Decide Angel Kelley scheduled sentencing for March 4, 2026.
