The T has added “googly” eyes to 5 automobiles after a group of riders rallied for practice googly eyes earlier this yr.
The googly eyes have been connected to the entrance of 5 Inexperienced Line and Commuter Rail trains, in response to the MBTA.
“After receiving public suggestions, our team found a safe way to install these ‘googly’ eyes on a limited number of vehicles… as part of our ongoing efforts to bring moments of joy to our riders’ daily commutes,” an MBTA spokesperson stated in a press release.
The group of riders within the spring marched from Park Avenue station to the MBTA workplaces, pushing for some character on the T.
March organizer Arielle Lok was thrilled that the T added googly eyes to some trains.
“Today, the @MBTA and us saw eye to eye,” Lok posted.
“Bring some joy into our lives, give the T-trains googly eyes,” Lok wrote. “Our vision for the T is to give the T vision. We did it!”
The MBTA is “constantly seeking creative ways to improve riders’ experiences,” the T spokesperson stated. That features in-station musical performances, youngsters’s voiceover bulletins, and its “Share the Love” campaigns.
The T spokesperson added, “We hope these initiatives, combined with our transit ambassadors’ dedication and our staff’s hard work on infrastructure upgrades, will continue to be a source of community connection and brighten someone’s day.”
