Dad Of Parkland Capturing Sufferer Infuriated By Faux Ear Bandages At RNC

The daddy of a 14-year-old who was killed within the 2018 Parkland faculty taking pictures thinks Republican Nationwide Conference attendees’ faux ear bandages are disrespectful to individuals who had been truly injured in final week’s assassination try on former President Donald Trump.

“This image infuriates me in ways that I cannot express deeply enough,” Fred Guttenberg wrote in a social media submit Thursday, alongside an image of three folks on the RNC in Milwaukee with what look like napkins protecting their proper ears.

Attendees of the quadrennial Republican gathering have been attaching napkins to their heads to imitate a bandage worn by Trump, who stated his ear was “pierced” by a bullet at a Saturday marketing campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

“My daughter while running into a stairwell at her school for safety was unlucky by 1 second,” Guttenberg stated. “Trump was lucky by one second. To mock my loss from AR 15-gun violence is disgusting beyond all measure.”

Guttenberg’s daughter, Jaime, was a freshman at Marjory Stoneman Douglas Excessive College in Parkland, Florida, when she was shot and killed by a 19-year-old who previously attended the college. Sixteen different college students and employees members had been additionally killed.

Whereas Trump escaped his assassination try with a bloodied ear, Guttenberg famous that others at his rally had been grievously injured and one was killed.

“As a reminder, someone also died in this shooting that they are mocking,” he stated of RNC attendees, earlier than hinting that he could now give extra credence to baseless conspiracy theories which have circulated since Saturday.

“I have ignored all of the conspiracy theories this week about this shooting and how it happened. Looking now at the way Trump and this crowd are milking this in a staged and produced way does lead me to wonder.”

Kris Brown, the president of gun security advocacy group Brady, criticized the faux ear bandages as effectively.

“Over 300 people are shot in America each day, and 40,000 die from gun violence each year,” she remarked in a separate social media submit. “One person died in the Trump assassination attempt. To make light of these tragedies is reckless and reprehensible.”
