Mport Samples "SpongeBob," "Dodgeball," "Finding Nemo" and Extra in New Dubstep EP

Mport is translating comedy into dubstep gold together with his new EP, sampling all kinds of beloved movies and reveals starting from Kill Tony to Spongebob Squarepants to family-favorite Pixar movies like Discovering Nemo.

“This longer EP is based around sampling some of my favorite scenes and media,” Mport explains. “Everything I used has made me belly-laugh to tears at some point, personally, so I wanted to add my production twist on them. Also, it makes for great live visuals.”

The voices of beloved cartoon characters Spongebob and Patrick may be heard in “Wumbology” early within the EP, their distinct rapport strategically damaged aside and spliced collectively over a head-bobbing beat. In the meantime, “Hot Rod (Cool Beans)” samples two scenes from the movie Scorching Rod, with Mport’s private addition of experimental bass and a horn part. Dodgeball and Beavis & Butthead be part of the hilarity in “The 5 D’s” and “Whoa Fire,” respectively.

Whereas different tracks stay heavy with wobbling bass, “Pixar Party” presents itself as an intriguing home observe, its beat laid over the acquainted squeaking bounce of the age-old Pixar lamp. Listeners can then hear samples of their favourite Pixar movies, like Toy Story, Wall-E, Discovering NemoMonsters Inc. and extra.

Scene Choices is not the one time Mport has used comical media for musical functions. Followers attending his April 2024 present at Denver’s Bluebird Theatre noticed him combine into his tracks and visuals Journey Time and the viral YouTube net collection Potter Puppet Friends, amongst different titles.
