Cape Cod sharks noticed 50 toes from shore: ‘White shark activity is just beginning to peak’

Peak seashore season is already over, however peak nice white shark season is simply getting began alongside the Cape.

Shark alerts had been lighting up the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy’s Sharktivity app on Wednesday, because the apex predators had been noticed near seashores.

Sharks had been seen about 50 toes from the shoreline.

“Pilot reports white shark headed south 50 feet off Nauset Light Beach,” reads the shark alert from the Eastham seashore.

Then Nauset ORV north had a report of a shark 50 toes from the seashore.

In the meantime, a pilot noticed three nice whites close to Marconi Seaside in Wellfleet.

“!! SHARK ALERTS !! Kids are back in school, summer is winding down but white shark activity is just beginning to peak,” posted shark researcher John Chisholm.

“If you’re headed to the ocean you need to remain vigilant!” added Chisholm, who confirms shark sightings for the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy. “Download the @sharktivity app if you haven’t already. It will keep you updated on sightings & alerts.”

Shark alerts are issued when a white shark sighting is confirmed near a public seashore. A notification goes out with every alert.
