“In life people often choose what’s familiar to them over what’s actually good for them,” says Digital Riot. “There is safety in the familiarity of something, even if it might be bad for you, and this was the emotional headspace for writing the track.”
One True God’s haunting vocals enter the fray and the uneasiness builds with distant, eerie sound results. A raging, writhing bassline then engulfs the drop, its sinister midtempo beat a Rezz signature. Melodic parts play a steady tug-of-war, flawlessly portray an image of the interior battle that takes place once you battle the urge to return to somebody or one thing you realize is unhealthy for you.
