The Massachusetts State Police has eliminated Det. Lt. Brian Tully as the top of the detective bureau posted on the Norfolk DA’s workplace and is able to rent another person for the job.

The MSP’s new chief, Col. Geoffrey Noble, “has conducted an initial review and believes this decision is in the best interest of the Department’s public safety mission,” in response to an announcement by MSP spokesman Tim McGuirk.

In an announcement the company despatched out Friday evening, a spokesman confirmed that Tully has been moved to a brief project within the MSP Division of Investigative Companies. Tully is presently the topic of an inner affairs investigation.

“Detective Lieutenant Tully will continue to be available to assist the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office with any cases in which he was previously involved,” McGuirk wrote within the bulletin.

Tully headed the detective bureau stationed on the Norfolk District Legal professional’s workplace through the investigation into the dying of Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe on Jan. 29, 2022. O’Keefe’s girlfriend, Karen Learn, was charged together with his homicide.

The investigation was the goal of Learn’s protection, which claims that Learn was framed by an enormous police and prosecution cover-up.

The chief of the workplace oversees about 20 troopers tasked with investigating unattended deaths, narcotics and arranged crime, sexual assault and abuse, larceny and associated, financially motivated crimes. The workplace can also be geared up with a digital proof processing lab.

This can be a growing story.
