Ella Emhoff, Vice President Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter, posted Saturday on her Instagram story that the rumor she had a psychological breakdown and was checked right into a hospital is “not true.”
“Also fuck you if you’re out there spreading that,” Emhoff, the daughter of Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, wrote. “There’s nothing wrong with showing emotion and crying. Anyone who says there is probably needs a good cry.”
She continued: “I’ve struggled with my mental health my whole life and I’m not ashamed of it.”
She ended the submit with a photograph of her and her canine, “I’ve literally just been here playing fetch with Jerry.”
The rumor seemingly got here from X, previously often known as Twitter.
Ella’s mother and ex-wife of Doug Emhoff, Kerstin Emhoff, wrote on X that the rumor is “more MAGA bs” in opposition to her household.
“Leave my kids alone!!! Ella is doing great and spending a lovely day with her mom,” Kerstin Emhoff wrote. “Having the ability to show your emotions is something we should all hope for. It’s OK to not feel great right now. We aren’t letting anyone break our family down.”
