Police in South Boston have arrested a suspected real-life Grinch stealing packages within the lead-up to Christmas.
Derek Kuzava, 34, of Boston, faces varied larceny fees after officers report that they discovered him on East Eighth Road after 2 a.m. Wednesday in possession of a package deal that was clearly not his.
The cops obtained a name reporting a larceny in progress across the intersection of I and East Fourth streets with an outline of a bunch of individuals stealing packages.
They discovered the suspect group strolling the road and requested them to cease. Officers report that they noticed Kuzava “bend down behind a vehicle in an attempt to discard an unknown item.”
“Officers could see in plain view an open package that was not addressed to the suspect. The box contained multiple items of clothing that had tags on them and were wrapped in protective paper,” the BPD wrote in a press release on the arrest. “After further investigation, officers were able to recover various stolen items from the suspect.”
Kuzava was charged with larceny from a constructing and receiving stolen property.
After he was arrested, police confirmed that he had warrants out for him on one other larceny cost, breaking and coming into within the nighttime, and possession of a Class A drug.
