JetBlue airplane at Boston Logan rolls off runway, airport stops departures

Date:

A JetBlue airplane veered off a Boston Logan runway on Thursday, because the airport quickly stopped all departures.

The coming JetBlue plane “experienced an irregular landing” at Logan, based on Massachusetts State Police. The airplane went into the grass whereas turning off the runway.

JetBlue flight 312 — an Airbus A220 that departed Chicago O’Hare Worldwide Airport — rolled into the grassy space off runway 33-L at round 11:55 a.m. There have been no reported accidents.

The FAA says it’s going to examine the incident.

“The runway is closed at this time as the aircraft is assessed and passengers are bussed to the terminal,” a Massport spokesperson mentioned in a press release.

There was a floor cease on departures till 2 p.m., though that might be lifted earlier because the plane was being moved.
