After Kate Merrill and Liam Martin depart WBZ, Paula Ebben is transferring to the morning present

After Kate Merrill and Liam Martin left the WBZ morning present, the CBS Boston TV station has introduced that Paula Ebben will likely be transferring to the mornings.

Ebben, a longtime night anchor, has been named co-anchor of “WBZ News Mornings” alongside co-anchor Chris Tanaka — forward of a revamped morning present later this summer season. Her first day within the mornings will likely be Monday, June 17.

“We are thrilled to have Paula join the morning show as co-anchor,” stated Justin Draper, president and common supervisor of WBZ-TV. “She is a lifelong New Englander and has been with WBZ for 21 years.

“She knows the region, the people and the local issues our communities face,” Draper added. “She joins at a perfect time where the revitalized format of the morning show aims to enhance the viewer experience with a more interactive and dynamic approach, and we are confident that Paula and Chris will deliver.”

Ebben has been anchoring night newscasts on the station for greater than a decade. This new task is a return to a well-known timeslot for Ebben, who beforehand anchored WBZ’s morning information from 2004 to 2013.

The brand new morning present will function “more frequent weather updates with differentiated content to keep viewers informed and prepared for the day ahead,” in keeping with the station.

The revamped present may also carry unique segments reminiscent of “Question Everything” to the morning lineup. The present will function a brand new phase impressed by CBS Mornings “Talk of the Table” — with discussions on trending subjects and native tales.

Levan Reid may also broaden his “Levan Out Live” phase, taking viewers stay on location to occasions and actions occurring throughout the area.
