Mother and father have the appropriate to say no to specific intercourse surveys being fed to 11-year-old children and the Burlington public faculty district just isn’t honoring that proper.
Burlington dad or mum Adrianne Simeone was stunned when her then 13-year-old center faculty son instructed her he simply answered a 45-minute survey about intercourse, drug use and alcohol use as a result of she had opted out.
Now she is on the lookout for solutions from the varsity superintendent and college committee about why the survey – which requested about anal intercourse, oral intercourse, intercourse toys and vaping – was given to children of fogeys who rightfully objected to it.
The Division of Training below President Donald Trump is investigating how this occurred towards a regulation which permits mother and father to choose out. It’s a part of a nationwide battle for fogeys to take extra management over what their children are studying at school.
And the Burlington superintendent and his flunkies on the varsity committee are hiding behind statements and consultants deflecting blame.
Why are they hiding? They don’t need to be held accountable for what they’re doing within the classroom.
“I was pretty ticked about this obviously,” Simeone stated in an interview with the Herald. “It’s all this very progressive stuff to change the way our kids think. The kids are sick of it. They just want to go there and learn. We get told we’re hateful bigots because we don’t want our middle school kids to be exposed to this stuff.”
Simeone says her son was simply confused by the survey and didn’t know what a few of the phrases meant.
“It was weird for him because he didn’t know what the heck it was. It’s just shameful,” she stated. “He’s going to the park and riding his bike. He’s not exposed to this stuff nor do I want him to be.”
Simeone and another mother and father at the moment are on a cost to reject the varsity’s progressive agenda and displace faculty committee members who gained’t honor mother and father’ needs.
“I’m fighting like hell to get this straightened out,” she stated.
“They’re covering for themselves – it’s very challenging to hold them accountable.”
Listed below are a few of the questions and solutions they had been asking children as younger as 11 years previous:
“How old were you when you had your first drink of alcohol? I have never had a drink of alcohol other than a few sips, 8 years old or younger, 9 years old, 10 years old, 11 years old, 12 years old, 13 years or older.”
“Sexual intercourse includes vaginal sex which is when a penis goes inside of a vagina, oral sex which is contact between the mouth and genitals, anal sex which is when a penis goes inside an anus (butt), and use of toys or props (vaginal or anal). Have you ever had sexual intercourse? Have you ever sent or received sexual messages or nude or semi-nude pictures or videos electronically (by smartphone, computer, tablet or other device?”
“Which of the following best describes your sexual orientation? Straight or heterosexual, Lesbian or gay, Asexual, Bisexual, Pansexual, Queer, I am not sure or questioning, I do not know what this question means, I prefer not to answer.”
“Which of the following best describes your current gender identity? Cisgender girl or woman, Cisgender boy or man, Transgender girl or woman, Transgender boy or man, Nonbinary or genderqueer, I am not sure or questioning, I do not know what this question means, I prefer not to answer.”
A survey of this magnitude must be mentioned and accepted by mother and father earlier than it’s force-fed to children. Mother and father must be absolutely concerned within the course of, and have the appropriate to say, “No I don’t want to take part in that.” And no means no.
And the Burlington faculty district must be rightfully hammered by the DOE if the investigation finds they violated the Safety of Pupil Rights modification.
“The priority should be respecting us,” Simeone says. “These are our tax dollars and our children.”
