Boston Hilton resort employees poised to finish 24-day strike, will vote on new contract

After 24 days on strike, Hilton employees at two Boston inns could head again to work this week, the union introduced Wednesday.

The UNITE HERE Native 26 employees introduced they reached a tentative settlement for a brand new contract with Hilton Resorts and Resorts on Wednesday. About 765 union employees at 4 Boston-area Hilton inns will vote whether or not to ratify the brand new contract Thursday.

Staff on the Hilton Boston Logan Airport and Hilton Boston Park Plaza went on open-ended strike on Oct. 6, having been in negotiations with the corporate since April. If the contract is ratified Thursday, each inns’ employees will return to work Friday at 4 a.m.

The union stated the employees are looking for “meaningful raises, improved benefits, and more sustainable workloads” amongst their core calls for.

The brand new contract may also apply to the DoubleTree Hilton Boston-Cambridge and the Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites Boston Seaport.

Two Omni inns in Boston additionally ended strikes after reaching new contracts on Oct. 20. Staff on the inns stated their new contract included historic wage will increase, the upkeep of employees’ healthcare advantages, and improved hiring and severance language.

Hilton employees will host a press convention Thursday forward of the contract ratification vote.
