Boston Mayor Michelle Wu dropped almost $10,000 of taxpayer funds on journey lodging for her March journey to Washington, D.C., the place she confronted down a Congressional oversight committee probing town’s sanctuary insurance policies.
Wu introduced alongside 11 employees members to her high-stakes D.C. look, at a complete price of roughly $9,909, when factoring in lodge, flight, ride-share and different lodging, per receipts offered to the Herald after a public information request.

Lacking from the receipts have been lodge prices for Zwaeli and return flight and lodge prices for Pierre. The mayor’s workplace reached out to the Herald to make clear that Zwaeli and Pierre stayed with buddies and Pierre’s return was not at taxpayer price.
St-Hubert submitted an bill explaining that her increased reimbursement prices have been pushed, partially, by her being liable for the mayor’s parking and meals for the D.C. listening to.
The Herald beforehand reported that the mayor anticipated to pay as much as $650,000 in metropolis funds for authorized work to organize for the Congressional sanctuary listening to.
These authorized charges included preparation for Wu’s hours-long testimony on March 5, Congressional committee investigation, and manufacturing of associated paperwork, Wu’s workplace mentioned in early March.
