Boston Police investigating officer-involved capturing of bare man in Beacon Hill

Date:

Police are investigating an officer-involved capturing, sparked by calls of a unadorned man with a knife who allegedly broke right into a Beacon Hill enterprise.

Officers responded to stories of a breaking-and-entering on Mount Vernon Road, the deal with of the 1928 Beacon Hill restaurant, round 6 a.m. There, they encountered a unadorned man armed with a “large knife” in a rear alley, BPD Superintendent Paul McLaughlin stated this morning.

McLaughlin added that three officers responded to the scene, with an officer trying to make use of a department-issued Taser to subdue the person, “striking the suspect to no avail.”

“Officers then discharged their department-issued firearms multiple times, striking the individual,” McLaughlin stated. “He was immediately given first aid by the officers on scene and immediately transported to a local hospital, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.”

All three officers had been additionally taken to a hospital for analysis. McLaughlin stated it was too early to know what number of photographs had been fired.
