As Connie Francis’ sleeper hit “Pretty Little Baby” continues to take over TikTok, the pop singer builds on the momentum with a brand new remix and vinyl launch.
The remix (launched on July 3) was revamped by Mary Droppinz and MYTHM. The digital artists spin the cutesy ‘60s tune into a rave-ready banger filled with intense bass drops. Along with the remix, “Pretty Little Baby” will also be released on a vintage-style, baby pink 7″ single backed with “Who’s Sorry Now”—Francis’ cowl of the 1923 tune written by Bert Kalmar and Harry Ruby. Her 1958 model grew to become her first solo debut hit, which reached No. 4 on Billboard’s Sizzling 100.
“Pretty Little Baby,” a deep reduce from Francis’ 1962 album Connie Francis Sings Second Hand Love & Different Hits, was given a second life this 12 months because of TikTok. It grew to become a viral phenomenon on the social media platform, showing in thousands and thousands of accounts, together with celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner.
Francis joined TikTok in June in celebration of the tune, which now has greater than 27 billion views. The retired singer, now 87 years outdated, posted a video with the caption: “My thanks to you all for the huge reception you have given to ‘Pretty Little Baby’. I am delighted to join the TikTok Community and share this moment with you.”
Within the video, she says, “I’m flabbergasted and excited about the huge buzz my 1962 recording of ‘Pretty Little Baby’ is making all over the world. To think that a song I recorded 63 years ago is captivating new generations and audiences is truly overwhelming for me. Thank you, TikTok.”
