The Dartmouth Faculty frat that was suspended after a scholar member died amid hazing allegations was already on alcohol probation for a previous suspension.
The Beta Alpha Omega fraternity and Alpha Phi sorority had been suspended by the New Hampshire faculty after 20-year-old Received Jang was discovered useless within the Connecticut River following a joint social gathering.
“At the time of the incident, Beta Alpha Omega was on alcohol probation following a fall, winter and spring term suspension,” a Dartmouth spokesperson stated in a press release on Wednesday.
“Alpha Phi was placed on alcohol probation during the fall 2023 term, and then returned to good standing,” the school spokesperson added.
Hanover police and fireplace departments responded to a report of a lacking Dartmouth scholar on Sunday at round 3:15 p.m.
