Two years after Gordo and Drake‘s collaborations turned prompt summertime staples in 2022, they’re able to showcase extra on the previous’s debut album, Diamante.
The end result of over 4 years of labor, the introspective challenge moonlights as a reflection of Gordo’s evolution as an artist. He famously retired his Carnage alias again in Could 2022.
“[Diamante is] the most emotional project I’ve worked on in my life,” Gordo stated. “It features work from artists I’ve looked up to and artists who inspire me, some I’ve known for years and others I’ve met more recently.”
Gordo and Drake’s partnership has been instrumental in shaping the panorama the place hip-hop meets home music. Their collaborative drive was first showcased on Drake’s dance-influenced album Actually, Nevermind, by which the DJ contributed manufacturing to 6 tracks. Since adopting the Gordo alias, the “Taraka” producer has earned a number of vital accolades in a brief time frame, together with a Grammy nomination and topping Billboard‘s “Hot 100 Producers” chart. Followers can look ahead to the producer’s subsequent milestone with the discharge of his debut album on July twenty sixth.
“This album embodies all my different tastes and personalities, from what I listen to, to what I play live, who I am as an artist, but most importantly, who Diamante is,” he added. “It’s my most personal work to date and comes from a place of love and authenticity. Most of the album’s production was done at home in Hawaii. I would produce until 6 PM, then I’d take a break, sit on my terrace, and watch the sunset while listening to the album and taking it all in. It’s an album you can listen to at home and at a 5am rave; it can be the pinnacle of your night or the perfect come-down after a long day. I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on.”
