Egzod is again with a brand new alias, Merage, launching the challenge together with his debut single “Replay.”
Recognized for his cinematic bass music, the DJ and producer isn’t new to high-stakes digital manufacturing. However with Merage, he is swapped the dramatic peaks and valleys for the whiplash rush of drum & bass.
Out now by way of Monstercat, “Replay” is a storm of kinetic percussion and self-sabotage, with lyrics that hit like a Purple Bull laced with remorse: “My head’s a multitude, I’m out of luck / I assume I’m misplaced while you’re round.”
Like any great drum & bass track, it doesn’t wallow, but sprints. There’s power in the propulsion, especially in the drop, a cathartic release mirroring the strength we all conjure when emotionally respawning—just to get wrecked again.
