Inexperienced Line service resumes between North Station and Medford/Tufts following derailment, security investigation

Inexperienced Line service resumed Thursday between North Station and Medford/Tufts following the closure after a derailment Tuesday.

“Regular service has resumed between North Station and Medford/Tufts & Union Sq,” the MBTA posted on X, previously Twitter, Thursday morning. “Shuttle buses have been phased out.”

The complete Inexperienced Line extension department was changed by shuttle buses Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday whereas officers investigated an incident by which a practice went off the rails close to Lechmere station in Cambridge.

Round 5 p.m. Tuesday, MBTA officers reported, a Inexperienced Line automotive got here off the tracks however remained upright, sending seven passengers to the hospital with “minor injuries.”  Ryan Coholan, MBTA Chief Working Officer, advised reporters Tuesday that preliminary findings led investigators to have a look at “human factors involved.”
