Jamie xx has reunited with Oliver Sim and Romy, his beloved bandmates from The xx, for a brand new single, “Waited All Night.”
The monitor marks the primary time the three have joined forces on an unique document since 2017 and arrives simply days earlier than the discharge of In Waves, Jamie xx’s long-awaited sophomore album.
“Thank you to my two best friends and musical siblings, Oliver and Romy,” Jamie xx stated in a press launch. “It’s wonderful to have the gang back together, working in new ways, working out new lives, I wouldn’t be here without them.”
“Waited All Night” is flush with The xx’s distinctive, goosebump-inducing vocals, which create a gentle sense of heat and emotion. Paired with crisp percussion, potent bass and a heavy dose of groove, the monitor showcases the trio’s palpable chemistry via a recent lens.
In June, the bandmates shared an emotional reunion in the course of the debut efficiency of “Waited All Night” stay at Glastonbury Competition.

Jamie xx’s extremely anticipated 12-track album, In Waves, drops tomorrow, September twentieth. A deluxe vinyl LP might be out there that includes three earlier singles in addition to two unique new tracks, “Do Something” and “F U” (with Erykah Badu).
