Johnny Griffin’s A Blowing Session is about to obtain a reissue courtesy of Blue Be aware’s beloved Basic Vinyl sequence.
This Blue Be aware Basic Vinyl Version is mono, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Grey from the unique grasp tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimum.
Initially titled Johnny Griffin, Vol. 2, A Blowing Session was recorded with fellow tenor saxophonists John Coltrane and Hank Mobley. The album was launched in 1957 and marked Griffin’s second Blue Be aware launch.
