Jury convicts Everett man of 2021 homecoming sport homicide

An Everett man was discovered responsible of capturing a rival as he was seated in his parked automobile outdoors a homecoming soccer sport.

A Middlesex Superior Courtroom jury after a three-week trial convicted Michael Stanton, 22, of second-degree homicide for the Oct. 22, 2021, capturing of Craig McDonald Jr., of Randolph. He’s scheduled to be sentenced on the courtroom in Woburn Wednesday at 10 a.m.

A second defendant, Luiz Perlera, is scheduled for a homicide trial starting Oct. 23 in the identical courtroom.

“This case is an example of the dangerous trend of young people illegally possessing firearms and using them to perpetrate violence in our communities,” Middlesex District Lawyer Marian Ryan stated in a written assertion following the decision.
