Kasbo Builds a Sonic Sanctuary With New Album, "The Learning of Urgency"

The titular monitor, “The Learning of Urgency,” ruminates on societal pressures to continuously do extra, its contemplative nature encouraging us to decelerate and savor the current. Dan Whitlam’s phrases, intertwined with melancholic melodies, evoke a way of tranquility and introspection, making it the right cornerstone to an album rooted in mindfulness.

In “Resenären,” Kasbo takes us on a seven-minute odyssey by means of progressive home with invigorating beats that pulse like a heartbeat at relaxation after which in movement. This monitor showcases his fascination with euphoric membership music, which emerged from his deep dive into DJing throughout his time away from touring. “I don’t necessarily think I’m going to solve anyone’s issue in dealing with this ‘hurry sickness’ but I think music can be a tool in slowing down,” he provides. “It is for me at least.”
