Kristin Cavallari didn’t mince phrases when opening up about her estrangement from her father.
“This might sound messed up to some people, but it’s the best decision I’ve ever made, cutting my dad out of my life,” the fact star shared in an interview with Folks journal printed Monday.
“Such a weight has been lifted from me,” the “Let’s Be Honest” podcaster added. “There’s not one day where I miss him.”
Cavallari mentioned that it took about 35 years of “buildup” to lastly finish her relationship along with her father, and shared that it “was something that I had been wanting to do for a long time.”

Cavallari shares three kids along with her ex-husband, former NFL participant Jay Cutler. They’ve two sons, Camden, 12, and Jaxon, 11, and one daughter ― Saylor, who’s 9.
Cavallari has spoken about her issue along with her father, who she’s known as a “narcissist,” earlier than.
“I actually didn’t realize my dad was a narcissist until I was an adult,” she mentioned throughout an episode of her podcast in 2023.
“All I knew growing up was that I didn’t want to be around him. He always made me feel like I wasn’t good enough,” she defined. “But then the flip side of that is, sometimes, he would put me on this pedestal and talk me up. Now as an adult looking back, I’m like, ‘Oh, it was when it benefited you and made you look good.’”
Cavallari touched on the incident along with her children however declined to share particulars of what occurred.
“I was always like, ‘I can take it. I can take the abuse.’ I have my whole life,” she mentioned. “But it’s like when you start now messing with my kids ― I’m not doing it.”
