Lady charged with arson after allegedly setting Charlestown residence ablaze

A Charlestown lady was arrested Wednesday after allegedly deliberately setting fireplace to a residence, Boston Police reported Thursday.

Officers responded to stories of a hearth at 4 Meade Road in Charlestown on Wednesday, Boston Police said. The cops started to dam off streets within the space as Boston Fireplace groups labored on the lively fireplace.

After additional investigation into the blaze, BPD mentioned, responders decided Katherine Cox, 34, of Charlestown, deliberately set the fireplace.

Round 3 p.m. Wednesday, officers and members of the Fireplace Investigation Unit positioned Cox below arrest on expenses of arson of a dwelling and burning private property, Boston Police mentioned.

Boston Police didn’t instantly launch data on the injury brought on by the fireplace or a attainable motive for the arson.

Cox is anticipated to be arraigned in Charlestown District Court docket.
