Massachusetts State Police trooper arrested after alleged drunk driving crash in Tewksbury

A Massachusetts State Police trooper has been place on administrative go away after allegedly crashing into one other automobile whereas driving drunk on Sunday, the State Police mentioned Monday.

Simply after 11 p.m. Sunday evening, in response to Tewksbury Police, officers responded to space of Foremost Avenue and Clark Highway for studies of a motorized vehicle accident.

Massachusetts State Police trooper James Doran, 28, of Tewksbury, was recognized as the driving force in one of many autos. Tewksbury police decided Doran was working beneath the affect and arrested the trooper.

The driving force and passenger within the different automobile have been taken to the hospital for analysis, police mentioned.

Doran was charged with working beneath the affect of liquor and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motorized vehicle.

“Recognizing the serious nature of the charges, the Department placed Trooper Doran on administrative leave pending the outcome of a duty status hearing later this week,” the Massachusetts State Police mentioned in a press release Monday evening, noting the trooper was off responsibility on the time of the crash.

State Police mentioned Doran is a member of the ninetieth Recruit Coaching Troop, which graduated from the State Police Academy on Oct. 9. All new troopers bear a 12-month probationary interval following commencement, State Police mentioned.
