Matthew Naumec and Ricky Stimets will battle Friday with the 116th Massachusetts Novice Championship on the road.
Naumec enters the 36-hole remaining with one benefit – he’s a member at Framingham Nation Membership, the place the occasion is happening. However Stimets, who performs out of Worcester CC, has been excellent all week.
Framingham CC is internet hosting the occasion for the primary time. Naumec and Stimets not solely have defeated high quality golfers to advance, they’ve performed spectacular golf in oppressive warmth.
Naumec superior to the ultimate with a 4 & 3 victory over veteran Matt Parziale of Thorny Lea. Within the remaining match to complete, Stimets held off Ethan Whitney of Oak Hill 1-up in an amazing battle.
Whitney produced a powerful victory within the quarterfinals when he simply bounced defending champ Ryan Downes of GreatHorse 5 & 4.
The opposite three quarterfinal matches weren’t nail-biters both – Naumec topped John Broderick of Dedham Nation and Polo Membership (3 & 2), Parziale eradicated Aidan O’Donovan of Cummaquid Golf Membership (4 & 2) and Stimets obtained previous Danny Frodigh of Dedham Nation and Polo Membership (4 & 2).
