Migrant staying at Massachusetts shelter convicted of raping baby: DA

A migrant who was staying at a state-run shelter has been convicted of raping a baby on the motel, in line with the Plymouth DA’s workplace.

A jury on Friday convicted 27-year-old Cory Alvarez of aggravated rape of a kid on the Rockland migrant shelter.

The case garnered nationwide consideration final 12 months — sparking a Congressional inquiry and resulting in extra Republican-fueled criticism of the emergency shelter system in Massachusetts.

Alvarez, a nationwide from Haiti, was accused of raping a 15-year-old lady on the state-run shelter in Rockland.

Police final 12 months responded to the Consolation Inn on Hingham Road for a report of a sexual assault.

Law enforcement officials upon arrival encountered the 15-year-old alleged sufferer, who was transported to South Shore Hospital for remedy.

Alvarez entered the U.S. lawfully by means of a federal program and underwent two state intercourse offender checks.
