Almost a decade after experiencing private tragedy, nation musician Rory Feek is celebrating the beginning of a brand new life chapter.
Final week, Feek confirmed that he married Rebecca, his daughter Indiana’s trainer, in a Montana ceremony on July 14. The marriage got here roughly eight years after the loss of life of his first spouse and longtime musical companion, Joey Feek.
A Grammy winner for his 2017 album, “Hymns,” Feek wrote at size about his wedding ceremony in a weblog titled “the wedding singer” that was posted to his private web site Friday.
And although he’d addressed his romance with Rebecca beforehand, he stated he was initially hesitant to take action with Indiana current, on condition that the 10-year-old knew his companion as “as ‘Miss Rebecca,’ her schoolteacher and our friend.”

“Her love for her Mama is so great and so big in her life,” Feek defined. “Neither Rebecca or I wanted to hurt that in any way. And so we just waited and watched to see if it might ever occur to Indiana that Rebecca could be more than just a friend to her Papa, and to her.”
By March, nonetheless, Indiana appeared to have figured issues out, and even urged Rebecca on to “marry Papa.” That very same day, she advised her father, “My Mama’s been gone a long time. And if she marries you, maybe she could be my new mother…”
“Needless to say, as I wiped away some tears, I told her I thought that was a wonderful idea,” Feek wrote.
Feek was married to Joey, who’s Indiana’s mom, from 2002 till her 2016 loss of life of cervical most cancers. Because the country-bluegrass duo Joey + Rory, the couple launched seven studio albums, together with 2012’s “His and Hers” and 2013’s “Made to Last.”
Feek, who has two different daughters from his first marriage to Tamara Gilmer, has but to collaborate together with his new spouse on music. Nonetheless, as he wrote in his weblog, he did carry out a brand new tune, “I Do,” devoted to Rebecca on the wedding ceremony.
