NESN host Sophia Jurksztowicz will likely be ‘back on air very soon’ for Bruins broadcasts

Date:

A preferred NESN host for Bruins broadcasts has formally returned to work and will likely be “back on air very soon” after a go away of absence.

Sophia Jurksztowicz introduced in October that she was taking a brief go away of absence “due to personal reasons.”

Then on Wednesday night, Jurksztowicz mentioned she’s lastly again.

“I know it’s late in the regular season but this is just how the timing worked out for me and how the cards landed…I can finally say that I’m officially back to work and even though it’s March, I couldn’t be happier to start again,” she posted on social media.

“I’m in the offices for now but will start doing some podcasts next week and back on air very soon,” she added. “All I can say again is THANK YOU for every single note, comment and in person hug I’ve gotten from the best fans ever. The Jacobs family, the Bruins and NESN have been SO freaking supportive throughout the last few months; I’m so grateful. To my best friends, my family and my teammates, you rule. Time to make some blooper reels.”

Again in October, she introduced on social media that she was taking a go away of absence.

“This summer I signed a contract extension with NESN and I couldn’t be happier to continue my journey as your Bruins host,” Jurksztowicz posted again then. “But due to personal reasons, I’m going to have to delay my season start with NESN and the team.

“I don’t want anyone to worry, I WILL be okay, but right now I just need to take time away from work,” she wrote. “I’ve received nothing but support from NESN with my circumstances and I seriously could not be more grateful to be working at NESN or more thankful for all the love from my teammates.”

Jurksztowicz added again then that she had missed being on the rink through the preseason.

“… And I’m going to miss interacting with all of you too,” she wrote. “You’re the best fans in the world and you’re my home away from home. I can’t wait to be back. In the meantime, I’m always cheering. GO BRUINS!!!”

In the course of the offseason, NESN named Judd Sirott as the brand new voice of the Bruins, taking up for Jack Edwards after he stepped away following a 19-year run within the NESN broadcast sales space.
