California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) slammed President Donald Trump’s use of U.S. troopers to roll out and clear a purple carpet meant for Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Trump had our BRAVE AMERICAN SOLDIERS ON THEIR KNEES to roll out the RED CARPET for his best friend VLAD!” Newsom posted on X, mocking Trump’s chaotic approach of writing social media messages.
Connected to the put up was a picture of U.S. troopers on their knees rolling out the purple carpet for Putin’s arrival in Anchorage, Alaska on Friday for a summit with Trump concerning the warfare the Russian president began with Ukraine.
“DISGUSTING,” the put up added.
The assembly between the 2 world leaders completed little for Trump, who ― regardless of spending the day heaping reward on the dictator and sharing a personal experience with him in Trump’s presidential limousine ― failed to succeed in an settlement with Putin to finish the warfare in Ukraine.
The Russian International Ministry’s spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, acknowledged on Telegram the importance of rolling out the purple carpet for the accused warfare felony.
“For three years, they have been reporting that Russia is in isolation, and today they saw the red carpet laid to greet the Russian president in the United States,” she wrote.
