What’s the connection between Blondie and William Shakespeare? In 1598, in Act III of Henry V, The Bard wrote the well-known traces “Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more,” referring to the hole within the wall of town of Harfleur. A mere 390 years later, on December 17, 1988, Blondie entered the UK chart with a remix album nodding each to that citation, and to Debbie Harry’s picture, in its title, As soon as Extra Into The Bleach.
That barely painful pun launched an album that was designed by Chrysalis Information on the time to maintain the title of the then-dormant New York band within the hearts and minds of their followers. Blondie had cut up after the 1982 album The Hunter, and have been nonetheless some 9 years away from the reunion that continues to at the present time.
