Police cruiser torched at avenue takeover in South Finish

Police in Boston say a big group of individuals took over a metropolis avenue very early on Sunday morning and attacked officers making an attempt to disperse the group.

BPD Commissioner Michael Cox mentioned that officers responded to the realm of Mass Ave. and Tremont Road round 2 a.m. to a report of a “large group of people” engaged in unlawful avenue racing.

“As officers approached the scene, they were met by a pretty large group of people and some of the individuals in the group started to throw cones, poles, and other objects at the officers,” Cox mentioned.

Because the police exited their automobile in an try and arrest a few of the contributors, the violence continued, based on Cox. The officers have been assaulted, and a crusier set ablaze.

“One vehicle was damaged in a fire and was totaled,” Cox mentioned. No police have been injured, he mentioned.

Two folks have been arrested on the scene.
