Police report describes chaos, violence throughout Boston Frequent protest

One protester punched an officer within the face, breaking his nostril and smashing his glasses, whereas one other masked marcher fired pepper spray into the face of police attempting to clear Tremont Avenue throughout a chaotic conflict in Boston, in line with a police report.

The report, launched Wednesday in response to a request from the Herald, describes “rioting” circumstances as police tried to clear the way in which shut down by 200-300 pro-Palestinian protesters, a lot of whom have been carrying masks and gloves, regardless of the nice and cozy temperatures.

Efforts to put the suspects in custody have been “immediately met with more violence and resistance from other protesters,” the report states.

“As soon as the protest turned violent towards law enforcement, Captain Driscoll declared an officer in trouble incident at Tremont Street and Winter Street as the approximately 20 officers were outnumbered tenfold by the rioting protesters,” the police report states.

Backup arrived “within seconds,” with orders for the protesters to disperse from the center of Tremont Avenue.

Protesters refused to clear the streets, as an alternative directing “vulgar chants” at police, together with screams of “(Expletive) you Nazis” and “BPD is KKK,” in full earshot of a whole lot of pedestrians commuting residence from work and other people attempting to benefit from the Boston Frequent, a lot of whom included aged folks and youngsters, the report states.

13 folks have been arrested, together with eight males and 5 ladies. 5 of the suspects are from Boston.

All are charged with: resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, illegal meeting, interfering with a police officer, and disturbing the peace. Atwood faces extra fees of assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery leading to critical bodily harm, and destruction of property.

The 13 suspects shall be arraigned in the present day in Boston Municipal Court docket.

The professional-Palestinian demonstration occurred on the two-year anniversary of the Hamas terror assault on Israel that sparked struggle within the area. A flyer distributed forward of the occasion urged protesters to “Flood Downtown for Palestine.”
