Ryan Downes, Patrick Kilcoyne to fulfill in Massachusetts Novice remaining

Ryan Downes and Patrick Kilcoyne will meet Friday with the 117th Massachusetts Novice Championship on the road.

The pair superior with quarterfinal and semifinal match play victories Thursday at GreatHorse in Hampden.

Downes, a GreatHorse member and Longmeadow resident, is a standout participant at Vanderbilt. He grew to become the youngest winner in occasion historical past when he captured the state title two years in the past at Essex Nation Membership at age 17.

To advance to the ultimate, each gamers needed to survive the minimize after 36 holes of stroke play after which defeat 4 opponents in match play.
