As he continues to showcase his fancy footwork on “Dancing With the Stars,” Scott Hoying is celebrating a deeply private milestone.

The Pentatonix singer revealed on Tuesday’s episode of the ABC competitors collection that he and husband Mark Hoying predict their first baby collectively by way of a surrogate. That very same day, the 2 males additionally documented the second they realized they have been about to turn out to be dads in a candy video, set to Sydney Rose’s music “Turning Page,” on social media.

The Hoyings, who’ve been married for greater than two years, have been outspoken about wanting to begin a household for a while. “We’ll always try to piece of us and our heart into everything we do, because it immortalizes the memories we have, so we wanted to put our families in the book,” Scott told HuffPost. “Family can mean more than just the conventional sense of the word. We’re both part of the queer community, so one of our goals was to make people who maybe don’t go home for Christmas feel included, too.”

To accompany the book, the Hoyings also unveiled a joint album, “M.Y. F.A.M.I.L.Y.,” featuring kid-friendly collaborations with musicians Béla Fleck and Meghan Trainor. The album’s lead single is a holiday song also titled “Fa La La Family,” featuring passages from the book set to music.

“It encapsulates how much love there is in our family and our chosen family between each other,” Mark said. “We’re entering this new phase of our life, so I’m already envisioning having this on in the background as we’re putting the kids to sleep or having dance parties in the kitchen. I’m so excited to have this be the soundtrack to our lives as we start raising our own little ones.”

Both Scott and Mark acknowledge that “Fa La La Family” and “M.Y. F.A.M.I.L.Y.” have arrived at a time when many in the LGBTQ+ community are justifiably concerned about their rights being rolled back in the current sociopolitical climate.

If both the book and the album can “make even one kid feel more safe,” Scott says he and Mark will feel fulfilled.

“I didn’t know a lot of gay people growing up. I felt flawed and didn’t want to tell anyone,” he explained. ”[But] I feel it made me a stronger, more empathetic person. It’s so profound how important representation is, because that’s what makes people understand a human experience they wouldn’t understand normally. We’re trying to move the needle in that way.”

That mission also extends to Scott’s current stint on “Dancing With the Stars,” in which he’s paired with dancer Rylee Arnold. Fans who recall the viral footage from the Hoyings’ wedding ― in which Scott confidently strutted his way through a medley of Blackpink songs ― might be surprised to learn he’d never had any formal dance training in the past.

“I’ve never taken a dance class, but I love learning choreo, so I’ll learn TikToks all the time in my room, with the blinds closed,” he said. “And it’s less pressure, because I’m not a professional dancer. So I’m just like, ‘Whatever happens, happens.’ I’m going to try my best.”

Amid his flurry of personal projects, Scott also hit the studio with Pentatonix for a new album. The Grammy-winning vocal quintet’s eighth holiday offering, “Christmas in the City,” drops Oct. 24, with a U.S. tour launching next month.

Though Mark acknowledges that he and his husband haven’t had much free time as of late, he wouldn’t have it any other way ― especially as he looks forward to the holidays.

“It feels like everything’s happening exactly as it should,” he said. “For any journey to starting a family, there are challenges along the way. But Scott has just made me feel so loved throughout the process, it makes me even more excited to be on this journey with him.”

"We’ll at all times attempt to piece of us and our coronary heart into the whole lot we do, as a result of it immortalizes the reminiscences we now have, so we wished to place our households within the e-book," Scott Hoying mentioned of the e-book.
