A brand new Skinny Lizzy field set is on its means. Titled 74-75 – Night time Life / Preventing, the seven-CD field set shall be accessible on November 21.
The gathering options the Irish rockers’ fourth and fifth albums, Night time Life and Preventing, each of that are considered their “classic line-up” with guitarists Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson. It’ll embody two variations of Night time Life—the unique album and a brand new stereo combine by Richard Whittaker, overseen by Guitarist Scott Gorham, and mastered by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Street. Preventing is newly remastered with 4 tracks that have been newly combined in Stereo.
The opposite discs include unreleased mixes from the band’s vault, outtakes, B-sides, radio periods, and a present from Derby recorded in 1975. Sleeve notes by mojo’s Mark Blake, a 40-page hard-backed booklet with uncommon photographs and memorabilia, and choices from long-time contributor Jim Fitzpatrick full the field set.
Night time Life, launched in November 1974 by Vertigo Information, was the primary album to debut the band as a quartet with new members and guitarists Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson. The file was adopted by Preventing in 1975. It was their first album to chart within the UK, peaking at No. 60.
In July, three of Skinny Lizzy’s albums—1971’s Skinny Lizzy, 1972’s Shades of a Blue Orphanage, and 1973’s Vagabonds of the Western World—have been launched on the favored Japanese format, SHM-CD. Final November, Skinny Lizzy launched Acoustic Periods, their first album in over 40 years. It featured stripped-down variations of a number of the rock band’s classics, together with “Dublin,” “Mama Nature Said,” Ireland,” “Slow Blues,” and “Here I Go Again”, together with a brand new model of “Whiskey In The Jar,” their breakout 1972 single.
