Paying tribute to her late good friend and collaborator Avicii has launched a wonderful cowl of his hit monitor “Wake Me Up.”

MØ, who collaborated with the late EDM icon to launch 2013’s “Dear Boy,” breathes new life into Aloe Blacc’s timeless vocals. Infusing them together with her uncooked and highly effective voice, she stays true to the unique “Wake Me Up” whereas including a contemporary twist, belting over a propulsive synthpop beat.

Avicii has had a profound affect on MØ, she says, and performed an instrumental function in her choice to pursue music.

“Avicii’s music and life story has touched me deeply over the years,” she defined in a press launch shared with EDM.com. “In 2012 in New York City at a weird rooftop party and to the tones of ‘Levels,’ something about the unapologetic, almost aggressive energy mixed with a haunting emotional depth made me make up my mind to follow my dreams of becoming an artist, whatever the cost.”

Out now through RCA/Sony, the duvet comes paired with one other new single, “Who Said,” which finds MØ reconnecting together with her digital music roots and Nordic origins.
