The long-lasting Greasy Pole contest in Gloucester kicks off

The annual Greasy Pole contest in Gloucester kicked off on Friday, as contestants tried as soon as once more to make their approach throughout the slippery pole to seize the flag.

The long-lasting contest is a part of the St. Peter’s Fiesta, a celebration of town’s business fishing and the Italian American neighborhood.

The Greasy Pole contest will proceed on Saturday and Sunday.
