SAMAKO says he was ready to make use of WebSDR expertise to seize abstruse radio indicators transmitted in Morse code by French army “installations,” together with buzzers and encrypted messages. These indicators, which he transformed to MIDI utilizing Ableton, grew to become the constructing blocks of the track.

“The shortwave signals from the French installation that were sent in Morse code had a steady beat,” he explains. “Since they were pretty clean signals, they translated perfectly into MIDI.”

From there, SAMAKO sculpted the sound, shaping his manufacturing to reflect and preserve the eerie resonance of the unique indicators. The result’s an association of driving arpeggios and darkish synths that mix with precision.
