Ticker: St. Francis Home breaks floor on new challenge

St. Francis Home and the Planning Workplace for City Affairs introduced the development of a brand new 19-story residential tower at 41 LaGrange Road, adjoining to the group’s administrative constructing in downtown Boston.

The brand new constructing will present everlasting supportive housing for households popping out of homelessness in an built-in, mixed-income improvement.

The LaGrange Road challenge will comprise studio, one- and two-bedroom items. The unit combine will encompass 68 studios, 21 one-bedroom items and 37 two-bedroom items. Seventy items will probably be put aside as everlasting supportive housing for these experiencing homelessness.

Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley, archbishop of Boston, added, “Respect for the dignity of all people includes doing all possible to provide every person a safe home. Too many members of our community are either homeless or on the verge of homelessness for reasons that include the rising cost of housing in Boston. The 41 LaGrange St groundbreaking gives us all hope that working together, more unhoused men and women will have access to a new apartment and the services they need to make this housing a stable home.”

This challenge was made doable with funding from the Govt Workplace of Housing and Livable Communities; MassHousing Finance Company; Neighborhood Financial Growth Help Company; the Metropolis of Boston’s Mayor’s Workplace of Housing, and Neighborhood Housing Belief; Boston Housing Authority; Financial institution of America; and The Life Initiative.
