Trump says he may revoke Boston’s World Cup matches

President Donald Trump urged Tuesday that he may “take away” the slate of World Cup matches slated to happen in Massachusetts if town of Boston doesn’t get robust on crime.

“We could take them away,” the president mentioned of video games within the metropolis that he mentioned have been already offered out.

“If somebody is doing a bad job, and if I feel there’s unsafe conditions, I would call Gianni – the head of FIFA who’s phenomenal — and I would say, “Let’s move into another location” and they’d try this.”

Trump meant FIFA head Gianni Infantino. He mentioned Infantino “wouldn’t love to do it, but he’d do it very easily.”

The World Cup video games is slated for 2026. Boston was named considered one of 16 host communities. However, there won’t really be any video games held within the metropolis. The video games hosted in identify by “Boston” will really happen at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, a stadium owned by Trump ally Robert Kraft, who served as Honorary Chairman of the 2026 World Cup United Bid Group.

The president didn’t provide specifics, however urged that crime threats have been hurting Boston and that his administration may resolve these.

He’s already deployed Nationwide Guard troops to Washington and Memphis, and Trump’s efforts to extend navy presence in Chicago and Portland, Oregon, have sparked authorized fights.
