Two males had been arrested for being busted with over half a kilo of cocaine allegedly in a Hyannis car parking zone, the Cape and Islands DA introduced Thursday.
On the night of August 5, a Massachusetts State Police trooper tracked Jermaine Dudley, 33, touring from New Bedford to Hyannis, the DA acknowledged.
In Hyannis, Barnstable Police joined the surveillance, and the police adopted Dudley to a car parking zone. Dudley was joined by Ilya Zinov, 36 years outdated, of Hyannis, and went on to “engage in a quick meeting in a vehicle,” authorities mentioned.
The DA’s workplace acknowledged “based on the experiences of the investigating State Trooper a narcotics exchange occurred between the parties.”
A State Police trooper approached the 2 males and allegedly recovered over half a kilo of suspected cocaine on the scene, together with a “large sum” of cash, the DA mentioned.
Each males had been arrested and arraigned on costs of Trafficking in Cocaine, 200+ grams, in Barnstable District Court docket.
Search warrants for addresses related to Zinov had been issued out of Falmouth and Barnstable District Courts and executed by regulation enforcement. The DA’s workplace didn’t specify if any additional unlawful substances had been recovered.
Zinov was on probation for Aggravated Assault and Battery with a Harmful Weapon on the time of his arrest, the DA’s workplace mentioned. Prosecutors have filed a movement to carry each suspects with out bail as a “danger to the community.”
“We remain committed to disrupting the flow of illegal drugs and holding those in the business of narcotics transactions accountable,” the DA’s workplace mentioned.
The defendants stay in custody pending a dangerousness listening to on August 8.
