WBZ’s Jon Keller and different workers let go by Boston TV station

Date:

A longtime staple on WBZ-TV has been proven the door.

Political analyst Jon Keller was let go from the Boston TV station this week, the Herald has realized, as Paramount slashes hundreds of jobs.

5 workers had been reduce at WBZ on this spherical of layoffs.

Keller was thought-about “freelance on-air talent” on the station. He joined WBZ-TV in 2005, and his “Keller @ Large” experiences had been repeatedly featured throughout WBZ Information at 5 and 6 p.m.

Based on Keller’s bio web page on the WBZ web site, he’s “widely regarded as the top political analyst in New England.”

“He is a favorite of the region’s viewers because he is smart, witty and local, and asks the tough questions everyone wants to have asked,” his bio reads. “The politicians respect him too because he has a reputation for being non-partisan, accurate, and dedicated to serving viewers. Although ‘Keller @ Large’ primarily tackles politics, Jon also offers social and cultural commentary on news of the day and pop culture.”

He has been honored with 11 New England Emmy Awards for commentary and reporting, and he was named “Best TV Political Analyst” twice in Boston Journal’s annual “Best of Boston” subject.

Again in 2020, WBZ Newsradio 1030 reduce ties with Keller amid an onslaught of iHeartMedia layoffs throughout the nation.
