Younger woman dies after alleged drunk driving crash in Franklin, authorities say

A younger woman died and two of her relations have been hospitalized with severe accidents after their automotive was struck Saturday afternoon by an alleged drunk driver, Norfolk County District Legal professional Michael Morrissey stated in an announcement.

Police arrested James Blanchard, a 21-year-old from Franklin, and accused him of driving the pick-up truck that crashed into the household’s automotive on Grove Avenue in Franklin, authorities stated.

Blanchard is being held on $500,000 money bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Wrentham District Court docket Tuesday, Morrissey’s workplace stated.

After the crash, the woman was taken to a hospital the place she was pronounced useless.

Her brother and mom, each passengers within the automotive, stay within the hospital. The daddy, who was driving the household, was launched from the hospital after receiving therapy, authorities stated.

Blanchard faces expenses of motorcar murder whereas driving negligently and drunk, three counts of working drunk and inflicting severe bodily harm, negligent operation of a motorcar, working a motorcar with an open container of alcohol, and a marked lanes violation, prosecutors stated.
